Foreign Minister Timo Soini participates in NB8 meeting in Oslo

On 25 August, Foreign Minister Timo Soini will participate in the NB8 meeting bringing together Nordic and Baltic foreign ministers in Oslo, Norway.

The meeting will discuss topical security policy issues, including the safety of the Baltic Sea and the Arctic regions, Russia, and the conflicts in Ukraine and Syria. There will also be an exchange of views relating to key European issues, such as the Brexit negotiations and the future of the European Union.

Finland will introduce the topic of transatlantic relations.

The meeting will be chaired by Norway which is responsible for coordinating the NB8 cooperation this year. Meetings between the NB8 foreign ministers have been organised since the 1990s.
